One point of clarification, Glendale's HPER facility is only half completed. They built a much needed lockerroom/team offices complex right near the field, but the actual HPER facility hasn't been built yet. I actually doubt it'll ever be constructed, but I guess we can all dream that it'll be completed one day.

As far as facilities go, Glendale High badly needs a new gym. The current facility seats only 1,200 for basketball/volleyball, which surely one of the smallest in all of Class 5. Due to the small capacity, Glendale isn't able to host the boys and girls basketball district tournament given the current alignment of teams in that district. I think it's totally unfair that a school as large as Glendale can't even host a district tournament because of the lackluster facilities. I know Glendale is pretty land locked, but I think room could be made for a new main gym or they could simply renovate the current one in order to increase the seating capacity.

Overall, I think R-12 has done a great job working on improving athletic facilities with somewhat limited funds.
